Bank of Scotland launches funding scheme for social entrepreneurs

Added: 06 November 2008

Not-for-profit organisations have a chance to benefit from up to £6m in interest-free loans through The Bank of Scotland Social Entrepreneur Awards.

The Bank of Scotland is offering two awards, one of a £5m interest-free loan, or a £500,000 donation, and the other of a £1m interest-free loan, or a £100,000 donation.

The awards are open to not-for-profit organisations whose primary purpose is to further social or environmental goals, and those who operate for non-commercial purposes and social benefit.

The winners will also receive mentoring from one of the UK’s leading social entrepreneurs, publicity from The Sunday Times, the awards’ media partner, and networking opportunities.

Entrants should complete an online application by 23 February 2009. For more information and to apply for the award, visit the Bank of Scotland website.
