Philanthropy UK funding secured through 2011
Added: 14 August 2008We are very pleased to announce that the Office of the Third Sector (OTS) has renewed its strategic grant to support Philanthropy UK’s work through 2011.
Susan Mackenzie, Director of Philanthropy UK, said,
“This is great news, as the support from OTS has been crucial to our success. This funding has facilitated the launch of our new website; the development of new products, such as The Philanthropy Directory, the fortnightly News Bulletin, and our special report on Women & Philanthropy; as well as the growth of our quarterly Newsletter, which is now read in over 60 countries.
“Over the past two years we have welcomed over 100 contributors to our Newsletter, including former Prime Minister Tony Blair, Sarah Brown, and the broadcaster Jon Snow. We look forward to improving further our products for philanthropists, and to helping to promote a culture of giving in the UK.”
David Gold, Chair of the Philanthropy UK Advisory Board, commented,
“Good philanthropy, like volunteering, is a positive act of civic participation. We are delighted that OTS has renewed its commitment to promoting a culture of giving, and hope that this leadership inspires other funders to recognise the important role that philanthropy support organisations play in strengthening civil society.”
