Philanthropy journal calls for submissions

Added: 08 August 2008

The International Journal on Philanthropy and Social Innovation invites submissions for publication in its upcoming thematic issue on Community Philanthropy.

The Journal, published twice a year in English and Italian focuses on the production of research and studies on philanthropy as an engine of social innovation.

The next edition, to be published May 2009, will analyse the different contexts of community philanthropy focussing on:

  1. The role of philanthropy in strengthening community empowerment
  2. Leadership and community philanthropy
  3. Comparative issues among different areas of the world
  4. The changing role of donors – from grant-making to high engagement philanthropy
  5. The growth of community development corporations: historical roots and strategic role in the future

Contributions that address emergent issues and innovations in practise and thinking such as environmental grant-making, poverty alleviation, paradigm shifts, the role of research as well as community impact are particularly welcome.

The deadline for submissions is 30 November 2008

Authors submitting manuscripts should provide two copies (20 pages at most, Times New Roman 12, line space 1.5) and a copy on CD-rom. For citations and bibliographies, authors should refer to the Chicago Manual of Style. Authors can submit essays in English or Italian.
