Pilotlight sparks interest in Scotland

By Roxanne Clark, Added: 07 September 2007

Venture philanthropy charity Pilotlight, which offers free business advice to charities, has launched in Scotland.

Pilotlight Scotland aims to enlist business expertise from companies to help small and medium-sized charities working with disadvantaged people, and has exceeded it’s target of business members and partner charities it had set for its launch early this month.

It is currently in talks with HBOS, Scottish Power, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Scottish Water, Open Reach - part of the BT Group, and Scottish & Newcastle.

Angela McCusker, chief executive of Pilotlight Scotland, said, “for a commitment of only three hours a month, Pilotlight's unique and highly-managed process ensures that our business members make a real and lasting impact, and I am delighted that we have not only met but exceeded our target at launch.”
