UK funders win Excellence Awards

The winners of the Third Sector Excellence Awards were announced at an event at the Hurlingham Club in London on 18th November.

Three philanthropic charities won awards for fundraising, finance team, and innovation in grant-making.

Youth The Funding Network (YTFN) won the award for Fundraising. YTFN, which encourages young people to become philanthropists, has adapted the successful event-based pledging formula used by The Funding Network (TFN), for younger people. 

South Yorkshire Community Foundation won the Finance Team award for their response to the need created by flooding in South Yorkshire in June 2007.

Elizabeth Finn Care won the Innovation in Grant-Making award. The judges highlighted Elizabeth Finn’s streamlined application process and their response to the increase in applications for grants due to the financial crisis.
