Philanthropy UK aims primarily to provide information and support to the giving community and is not a grant-maker. However, we also seek to help increase the quantity and quality of income to the charitable sector, and so have prepared the resources below for charities and other grant-seekers.

Individual giving is becoming increasingly important to third sector organisations. The recent growth in the number of newly wealthy individuals represents a new and potentially significant income source. Importantly, private individuals provide charities with unrestricted, sustainable and predictable income. They also play a critical role in maintaining the independence of the voluntary sector, especially as more charities are delivering public services on behalf of government.

We hope that this information is helpful in your fundraising efforts, and welcome any feedback or suggestions you may have to improve this resource. Please send comments to info@philanthropyuk.org.
