Mission
To provide financial and strategic resources to visionary charities and social entrepreneurs to create sustainable social change.
Activities
Impetus Trust is a venture philanthropy organisation which supports visionary charities and social enterprises by giving them long-term financial backing. It combines expert professional advice with guidance to enable them to deliver more for their beneficiaries, which in turn affects more lives and generates even greater impact.
The charity's aim is to maximise the social return on investment both for charities and for its donors. It carries out thorough due diligence and continued management of the organisations it supports.
It promises to maximise the impact of your money, stating:
- For every £1 you give us we leverage another £1.50 in value from our volunteers' expertise.
- For every £1 you give us we can leverage another £1.50 from co-investors.
- Over the period of your £1 investment our aim is that it will have a £10 impact.
For individual donors
The spectrum for donor engagement ranges from receiving reports from Impetus and its charities, to on-site visits to see the work the charities do and meeting their direct beneficiaries, to being involved with the screening and due diligence processes prior to a new investment.
Several donors and other supporters are also Impetus Associates, volunteering their time and business skills to help charities, or Impetus itself, in a wide range of areas from management development to income generation, or marketing and communications to governance, finance or business planning.
Each supporter's journey is unique, so please contact the charity directly to discuss your areas of interest.
