One Laptop per Child has launched the second Give One/ Get One (G1G1) programme, to give $199 (£132) laptops to children in the developing world.

Participants can give one XO laptop for $199 (£132) or give a laptop and receive one for themselves for $399 (£265). Amazon will distribute the ‘get’ laptops and are providing their services at cost..

Last year the G1G1 programme supported the production of over 150,000 XO computers, which are specially built to be suitable for children in the developing world.

The G1G1 programme is scheduled for launch on Amazon.co.uk on 16th December.
