A consultation on the effect of current limits on dividends and performance related interest that can be paid to investors in Community Interest Companies (CICs) has been launched by the CIC Regulator.

Views are welcome from CICs, and other organisations or individuals who have experience of or interest in the operation of CICs.

The consultation document, impact assessment and consultation response form are available online.

The CIC was introduced by the Companies Act 2004 (Audit Investigation and Community Enterprise) as a new legal form for social enterprises that want to use the company form while ensuring assets are used for the benefit of the community.
