A new website that aims to connect people and organisations in need with those who can offer assistance has been launched in the US this summer, with plans to expand it to the UK and other countries in the future

doGoodr.org enables users to post ‘needs’ or ‘offers’ for money, time, or expertise or conversely search for either. The website is free for both parties. Donors using the site can post anonymously and receive regular email notification of organisations or individuals with needs that match their offer.

Founder Bob Silvestri told Philanthropy UK that doGoodr aims to create “a level playing field and individual choice” for those who need help and those who can offer it to others.

It will enable donors with “specific intentions” and those with specific needs to find each other quickly, Silvestri added.

Donors can make offers from anywhere in the world, although only US registered charities can be verified. Non-US charities would have to register as ‘other non-profit organisations’.
