Absolute Return for Kids (ARK)
ARK is an international charity whose purpose is to transform children’s lives. Its focus is on direct implementation in the areas of HIV/AIDS, children in care and education.
15 Adam Street

Mission
ARK’s purpose is to transform children’s lives.
Activities
ARK has developed a strong results-driven model to identify, create and deliver innovative programmes that address the specific needs of children in three critical areas:
- HIV/AIDS – ARK is preventing children from being prematurely orphaned by or dying from AIDS by treating caregivers and children infected with the virus;
- Children in Care – ARK is ensuring that children grow up in appropriate, stable and caring family environments by closing orphanages in Eastern Europe and providing alternative care services;
- Education – ARK is breaking the cycle of underachievement for children by providing opportunities within the challenging inner city education system.
ARK applies the same principles and disciplines to managing the charity as it would to running a business, focusing on the transformation of children’s lives through rigorous research, monitoring and evaluation. ARK’s work meets high standards of efficiency and effectiveness and its projects are transformative, scalable and sustainable.
For individual donors
Interested individuals should contact Carmel Spyer, Donor Relations Director, ARK, to discuss levels of commitment. The charity does not specify a minimum amount.
ARK also operates a Patrons’ programme, which is open to individuals and companies. There is a minimum contribution of £20,000 a year for individuals and £35,000 for companies. Patrons visit projects, attend events and receive regular progress updates. .
